Hardships and Assemblies
by Sunspot ini just left a post on the "pa convention" thread concerning some of the hardships and difficulties that jws had to (or some here still have to?
) endure just to either get to a convention or what they go through after getting to the convention.. having to trot around from designated doors to the restrooms (rather than being ordered to use the door they told you to) no matter where your family was sitting..... or having you and your family have to climb way too many stairs on the last upper tier to find seats.....while plenty of empty seats remained on the ground floor that were never used that whole day?.
or the designated wts-regulation-sized cooler you had to lug into the stadium because you weren't allowed to leave the site to get a snack or a drink?.

three wise men
by Ade ina while back i posted on a story found in the watchtowers childrens bible concerning the three wise men going to visit jesus, in the childrens bible the word is rendered "worship" him, as most are aware in the nwt the words are rendered "do obeisance".this post doesnt directly cover that, i wanted to find out whether these so called wise men were sent by god or not.
the reason for this is that someone pointed out that this was because the three wise men were (by jw's accounts) sent by satan.i decided to search through the scriptures to decide for myself whether there was an adequate reason for them to make such a statement.

Could this description of Daniel be based on the title he was given by his captors and not his true nature or ability. Wouldn't they see his backing by God as magic? We read too, that God would protect the messiah, or maybe that was just some wacky JW reasoning? If he did protect him, he would have kept Satan from giving Herod a dream that would lead to the child's death? Of course the magi had to report to Herod first in order to cause the slaughter of the children of Israel. I think the worst part is that slaughter of children that jehovah had part in causing. He can ressurect them of course.
On top of all that, I don't believe any of it. LOL

"Big book. Red book. Pretty book. 50 cent book", this is the sermon that millions used to use in the field ministry according to one C.O. that I knew. He didn't think much of the way most publishers presented the "Good News". Most can't wait to get out of service and take a break to dish the latest dirt on the weaker ones who weren't out in the ministry that day.
God has delivered me from this humiliation!

The only ones trying to "Hurry it" are the Governing body and those dingbats who do their bidding. I personally remember when we had a Zeph/Hab text before. It was in 1974 about some vine not ripening and Jehovah taking care of us. That was supposed to be due to the Great Tribulation I believe.
